Dr. Hung Bui is the Technology Vice President at Qualcomm, leading efforts to advance on-device generative AI. He founded VinAI in 2019, building it into Southeast Asia’s leading AI research institute, later acquired by Qualcomm in 2025. Previously he held senior roles at Google DeepMind, Adobe Research, Nuance, and the AI Center, SRI International (formerly Stanford Research Institute), where he contributed to the seminal CALO project that formed the basis for intelligent personal assistants like Siri. Dr Bui holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Curtin University, Australia, and is a former IMO silver medalist.
