Chengzu is a second-year PhD student in Computation, Cognition and Language at Language Technology Lab at the University of Cambridge, supervised by Dr. Ivan Vulić. His research is supported by Cambridge Trust. He is also a member of Jesus College. Before starting his PhD, Chengzu received his MPhil degree in Advanced Computer Science at the Department of Computer Science, supervised by Prof. Simone Teufel, supported by Cambridge Trust. He was an undergraduate student in Automation at Xi'an Jiaotong University.

He is generally interested in different topics in NLP and machine learning. His research interests include language grounding and reasoning, especially in multimodality (eg. structural knowledge, image, etc.). He is currently exploring and focusing on multimodal spatial reasoning with vision and language, grounding large language models with Chain-of-Thought, and in-context learning and other learning paradigms. Chengzu is also interested in the possible applications of Gaussian process and causality in the NLP area.
