Munawar Hayat earned a Ph.D. in Computer Vision from The University of Western Australia and previously served as an ARC DECRA Fellow and faculty member at Monash University. With over 100 publications and 23,000 citations, Munawar’s work has advanced computer vision and machine learning. Currently at Qualcomm AI Research, Munawar leads research in multimodal generative AI, focusing on efficient models and perception systems for XR, IoT, and autonomous technologies, driving innovation at the intersection of vision and language.
