Clément Farabet is VP of AI Infrastructure at NVIDIA, developing Maglev, NVIDIA's platform for self-driving AI development. His focus is to systematize the development of deep neural nets, from principled data selection/expansion/labeling to training and validation. Clément also oversees NVIDI's data science platform, RAPIDS, the bridge between data science and deep learning (tabular deep learning), and bringing data science into fast growing fields like genomics. He received a PhD from Universitç Paris-Est in 2013, while at NYU, co-advised by Laurent Najman and Yann LeCun. His thesis focused on real-time image understanding, introducing multi-scale convolutional neural networks and a custom hardware arch for deep learning. He co-founded Madbits, a startup focused on web-scale image understanding, sold to Twitter in 2014. Clément also cofounded Twitter Cortex, a team focused on building Twitter's deep learning platform for recommendations, search, spam, nsfw content and ads.

TWIMLcon  2019
Data is central to training and validating every aspect of autonomous vehicle software. In this talk, we’ll look at NVIDIA’s internal end-to-end AI platform, MagLev, which enables continuous data ingest from cars producing multiple terabytes of data per hour, and enables AI designers to iterate on new neural network designs across thousands of GPU systems and validate their behavior over petabyte-scale datasets.
